IÑAKI SALVADOR & CHRIS KASE
20:30 – Fernán Gómez. Centro Cultural de la Villa
€16 – Reduced: €14
Our jazz has had solid references for the new generations of musicians for a long time now, yet another symptom of its creative maturity. Nowadays Iñaki Salvador is considered to be a veteran master, although his inspiration is always young and glowing. This is due to the pianist’s permanent search for something original and personal, with an inspiration that always takes risks, the distinctive hallmark of good jazz.
Besides his activity as a jazz player, Iñaki Salvador, who also puts a good part of his heart into teaching, has written pieces and arrangements for theatre and dance shows, and his CV also includes works for film, radio and television. He also has a discography that, between collaborations and solo projects, amounts to a considerable number of recordings.
In his concert in JAZZMADRID, the musician will be expanding his artistic merit in the company of a trumpet player he has known very well and for a very long time: Chris Kase. With an official degree from Berklee, Kase matured artistically alongside such characters as Seamus Blake or Bob Mintzer. His phrasing is very refined and elegant, and very few artists are able to match his ability to add such original melodic lines, avoiding clichés, to their work.
Iñaki Salvador and Chris Kase, two musicians who, in this performance, will search for and reinvent themselves in a journey that the former will undoubtedly once again explain to the audience beforehand. And as always, these spoken illustrations will be one of the highlights of the show. We will find out what the other ingredients and elements of the project are on the night.
