8:30pm – Conde Duque Contemporary Culture Centre

Price: €10

Quinteto Capital is a musical reflection on roots that seeks to explore the direct relationship between origins, paths, quests and the avant-garde, making a circular journey that begins and ends in Madrid yet establishes dialogues and contrasts with other cities such as New York and Buenos Aires.

The project is led by the double bassist Javier Moreno, a jazzman with a long and distinguished career that has been mostly built up outside Spain, through collaborations with musicians such as Gerald Cleaver, Tim Berne, Dino Saluzzi, Craig Taborn, Carmen Linares, Arcángel, or David Dorantes.

Javier, who usually lives in New York, has put together a group of musicians based in Madrid, who share a common imaginary in the way they approach risk and jazz interaction. The outbreak of Covid-19 is responsible for the inspiring search for creative synergies in the music of this group, capable of consolidating Madrid’s contemporary jazz scene.

Román Filiú – Alto sax and flute
Jorge Vistel – Trumpet and flugelhorn
Víctor Correa – Trombone and tuba
Javier Moreno – Double Bass
Borja Barrueta – Drums
