This duo is made up of Antonio Bravo on the guitar and Germán Díaz on the hurdy-gurdy (we really must stop referring to him as “the nephew of Joaquín Díaz the folk musician”). Germán is a musician in his own right; he is, in fact, one of the greatest talents to emerge in the Spanish popular music scene and, together with Antonio Bravo, he works in a jazzy space that knows no bounds.
This tandem looks so good that for the past ten years they have been creating a jazzy and engaged repertoire filled with songs from the Spanish Civil War and World War I. They are comfortable in this endeavour. All the musical resources they use are their own, no matter what their origin, and their songs are arranged in such an open way that there is always room to draw an endless number of variations and for the individual initiatives both musicians come up with.
The programme is archived on two albums, published in 2008 and 2016, and although they have used all manner of spices in both of them, Germán and Antonio have selected only the best seeds. This is the only way to create a formula such as the one we will enjoy in this concert, alive and happy, the quintessence of the music of our time.
Guitar, arreglos and composition of additional parts: Antonio Bravo.
Vocals, hurdy-gurdy, barrel organ, programmable music box, krakebs and bendhir: Germán Díaz.
