When she performed in this festival three years ago, Kontxi Lorente demonstrated the pronounced singularity of her piano technique. All by herself, this artist certifies the excellent condition our jazz is in. If we take a look at her curriculum, we can easily appreciate the wise teachings of George Colligan, but also those of Baby Harris. Two very different pianists. And betwixt both masters, Kontxi Lorente, a highly talented pianist.
She is as dexterous a performer as she is an adventurer. And this is a rather picturesque point, because it is not easy for so much inventiveness to make headway through the emotional. But yet it does. The pianist has proven herself by recreating very varied repertoires in the Sedajazz Big Band and with musicians such as Toni Belenguer, Bob Sands, Mario Rossy or Perico Sambeat.
She holds a degree in Jazz Piano from the Higher Conservatoire of Music of Navarre, and she also teaches piano in a number of schools. She has composed works for several audio-visual projects and to date, she has treated her fans to three albums. He will present her latest one, “Selected Songs”, at JAZZMADRID.
