- This event has passed.
We’re repeating this project simply because in JAZZMADRID we believe we should keep activating a space so that in each edition of the festival, musicians can teach children about their art and work, explaining to them all that is good in their inventions. Singer Noa Lur is once again in charge of resolving this challenge, with her show “Jazz for Children”.
As a vocalist, she makes use of all manner of resources during her stage performances. These can include theatrical dialogues, songs from Disney movies, swing tunes or complex vocal filigrees. Everything is filtered through her unique perspective and the result is an excellent lesson on jazz music. Noa, who began her career in children’s TV shows on EITB in her native Bilbao, hasn’t stopped evolving, and her ability to entertain just with her band’s complicity is astonishing.
JAZZMADRID intends that such a specific episode as this should be an important event for kids and adults alike. Perhaps because if you think about it, although music sometimes finds its best ally in the past, its future will be written by our children. Noa’s covers of “The Bare Necessities” and “Hakuna Matata”, the latter taken from The Lion King, are splendid.
